A Level III guard is an armed Security Guard who is authorized to carry firearms. Level III training is extensive, and the Security Guard must complete advanced security courses and tests in order to obtain this level of authorization. Typically, a commissioned armed Security Guard is employed in higher-risk areas, or areas that require further protection due to the value of assets. This is why Level III training is so demanding.
Commissioned Security Officer
Level 3 Security Officer Training is required to become a Commissioned (armed) Security Officer. The training consists of 45 hours of required training. The training will cover Texas requirements to become an armed officer and includes defensive tactics, firearms, use of force and many other topics. Both women and men are needed in the security industry. We train you from the ground up. Most of our students have no prior experience.

The Level IV Personal Protection Officer (PPO) course was designed by Texas DPS-RSD to give security officers an exposure and basic foundation to the bodyguard industry.
PPOs perform exceptional protection details such as working as VIP bodyguard, executive protection specialist, and/or backstage security at an event. In addition, this also allows you to work in plain-clothes and carry concealed while on duty. This course meets and exceeds the training requirements of the Private Security Board (PSB) for a Personal Protection Officer license.
This is a 15 hour course that is required by the Texas Department of Public Safety – Private Security Board. While there is no range qualification or shooting involved in this course, we have incorporated range time as a bonus.
